D.R.A.M. Plenty of other Hip Hop and R&B notables are attending though, with   Chance The Rapper, Rick Ross, CeeLo, 2 Chainz, French Montana and many more already past the red carpet. He goes on to tell a story about how when Jim Jones first met his still-girlfriend Chrissy Lampkin years ago, Jones was spending lots of money on her, buying her shoes and bags and the like. “I was dead wrong for this, I was dead fuckin’ wrong and this is where the whole shit collapsed at, this is where everything went all the way downhill. “It was just a joke. Cam’ron aired what basically amounted to a DIY episode of Love & Hip Hop   last night (February 11), taking to Instagram Live to tell his side of the story about his up and down relationship with fellow Diplomat Jim Jones. “I’m happy he’s happy. I’m being totally honest,” Cam says. I apologized about doing that I really do apologize.”
Cam says it was after that incident that Jones started having other issues with him over money and fame. Check it out in full below. He took that shit serious, b. “I want Jim to succeed,” Cam explained. Cam thought Lampkin was just another here-today-gone-tomorrow woman passing through Jones’ life, and made up some T-shirts to clown his crew-mate for spending cash on her. As per usual, Cam downplayed the beef he’s had with Jones over the years and sent some positivity over to the newest Roc Nation signee. In a nearly three-hour broadcast, the Killa Season   rapper responded to Jones’ emotional interview with Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97 from earlier in the week and gave his take on how things went down. I don’t know if he’s happy or not. The   T-shirts said “Tricky Ricky AKA Jim Jones Is A Trick” on the front, and on the back, there was a list of all their friends in jail, implying that the money was going to Jones’ new woman instead of helping their friends who were locked up. “I wasn’t trying to disrespect him because I didn’t know their relationship would grow to be what it was…” Cam explains. Cam had people wearing the shirts around the studio as a joke, but Jones didn’t find anything funny about it. Cam gives a detailed breakdown of their relationship in music before getting to what he thought was the catalyst for their issues. And to this day, I be man enough. I want him to win … I don’t got no beef with you … I really love you.”
Obviously this is just a small part of the picture that Cam paints over the lengthy video.

2-3 months after it come out.” He continued, “It’s not that it wasn’t put together quality wise, it’s not that it wasn’t quality beats and shit like that, it just didn’t capture the attention of the world. It’s what goes on in my life.”

I’m hoping that I could be the person to say ‘How can we fix this? “I think that it could happen because I talk to both of them.” “This is not a diss to my father at all,” he says. “This how this shit work is how music goes, this is how you know your shit [is] good. This week in Hip Hop, DX makes the case for every rap album nominated for a Best Rap Album Grammy, Jay Z laces Big Sean with a Roc-A-Fella chain and Instagram posts involving Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill and India Love dominate headlines. “[Jay Z] gave me the Roc-A-Fella chain, the big boy,” Sean told Power 105.1’s Angie Martinez. ? y'all so childish Omgskibbidybopbopghjhddfnjj – I was gonna wait to share the news but…

Big Sean has been grinding since his debut on the rap scene, and his new project   I Decided. “I haven’t been cool with Gucci since my best friend got killed,” said in an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra. He gave his thoughts on Dr. How can we all like sit at one table, break bread and do something epic again?’” Mannie said. Stay tuned Sunday night for our coverage of the awards.

Very much appreciated. Check out Frank Ocean’s 2013 Grammy Awards performance in the clip below. 12) at 8:00 PM EST on the CBS network. Technical difficulties, blah blah. The pair mentioned that Ocean’s Grammy performance in 2013 was “not good TV,” but say they supported his vision nonetheless by going on with the show. Thanks for the reminder. Portions of Ocean’s Tumblr post in response is as follows:
“Ok Ken (and David). Don’t you think I would’ve wanted to play the show to ‘redeem’ myself if I felt that way? As much as I hate to make you guys famous or even respond to you directly. You think that’s why I kept my work out of the Grammy process this year? Frank Ocean and the Grammy Awards are not on good terms right now,   with the R&B crooner opting to not submit his latest projects for consideration and questioning the relevancy   of the awards. Yea yea my 2013 performance at the Grammys was absolute shit. Producers for the show recently responded to Ocean’s negative outlook on the awards in an interview with Rolling Stone, and criticized Ocean’s 2013 performance of “Forrest Gump,” calling it “faulty.”
This has prompted a biting Tumblr post from Ocean, where he responds that the Grammys were faulty   for giving Taylor Swift’s 1989 Album Of The Year over Kendrick Lamar’s acclaimed To Pimp A Butterfly at last year’s awards. Hands down one of the most ‘faulty’ TV moments I’ve seen.”
The producers of the show also zeroed in on the wave of other notable names who are skipping the awards this year, including   Kanye West, Drake and Justin Bieber. Ocean wrote the Tumblr post in response to a   Rolling Stone podcast interview where the award show’s producer Ken Ehrlich and writer David Wild discussed Ocean’s decision to not submit his latest album, Blonde, for award consideration this year, amid other criticism. We all die one day and you’re old so fuck it. The 59th Annual Grammy Awards air tonight (Feb. 1989 getting album of the year over To Pimp A Butterfly. Fuck that performance though. …
“I’ve actually been tuning into CBS around this time of year for a while to see who gets the top honor and you know what’s really not ‘great TV’ guys? Ehrlich and Wild claimed that they’ve put out invites to several stars but said very few confirmed for varying reasons, although the pair held out hope that Bieber might make an appearance.

"We're in this love together." Bright words for dark days. I responded with this: His 2nd priority in life was music. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1940, Jarreau would go on to release more than 20 projects and amass seven Grammy Awards throughout his career. pic.twitter.com/XylxkaAILe

One of my all time favorites.

WE ain’t goin!!! to stand in solidarity with the imposing former player. On Friday (February 10), the announcement was made that Oakley would be banned from entering Madison Square Garden. #OGOakley” to go along with the post. Fans from all walks of life stepped up in defense of Oakley and he has since reached out via Twitter to thank those who have spoken up in wake of the arrest. What that means exactly isn’t known, but it appears Tip is asking people to not support the team or that he himself will no longer attend games for the duration of Oakley’s banishment from the arena. I will be holding a Press conference next week Let’s go Knicks,” tweeted Oakley on Friday. Despite Oakley’s contributions to the squad, he has been banned by owner James Dolan, which led T.I. I love NYC I LOVE the Knicks that you for all your love .. I want thank all in players and pass NBA players as well as family and friends for all your love and support
— Charles Oakley (@CharlesOakley34) February 11, 2017 He followed that tweet for by thanking former and current NBA players for also stepping up for him. “I love NYC I LOVE the Knicks [thank] you for all your love .. Last Wednesday (February 8), New York Knicks legend Charles Oakley was involved in a shoving match with Madison Square Garden security that eventually led to his arrest. Oakley was allegedly booted from the arena for making inappropriate   comments during the game, which prompted the response from the arena’s security staff. I will be holding a Press conference next week Let's go Knicks

T.I.’s stance was made known via his Instagram account, which featured a photo of Oakley with the caption reading ““If HE can’t go.

“They had just that crazy, crazy sound combined with what Chuck was saying and it just had me stuck,” he says about Public Enemy’s debut project. Bum Rush the Show was the world’s introduction to a cast of characters that was Chuck D, Flavor Flav, Terminator X and Professor Griff. “I know N.W.A, that’s one of their major influences as far as making records. AMG recalls meeting the group at a show in Los Angeles and wanting to compliment Chuck D on his powerful rhymes. AMG, who’s worked extensively (and beefed) with DJ Quik, says that the Bomb Squad created a   “beautiful collage” with its production work and all of the elements woven into the LP. He’s like, ‘That’s Chuck D.’ I’m like, ‘The little dude right there?’”
Yes, the little dude right there was Chuck D, who has become iconic in his own way as the group challenged and empowered audiences with songs like “Rightstarter (Message To A Black Man).”
“It made you go pick up some books and understand what they weren’t teaching you in school,” AMG says of the track. That was the only record out that was killing it at the time. Perhaps the greatest reason this album is one to remember is because it gave birth to a whole new genre of rap. AMG says that   Yo! But his voice, I wanted a commanding voice. But records like that, you’re not going to get again, not at all.” Bum Rush the Show,   which celebrated its 30th anniversary yesterday (February 10). “I didn’t even have an idea of what I was going to do or if I was ever going to do music. In a time when social media wasn’t even a thought, fans had to learn about the members through other means. Bum Rush the Show‘s impact was felt across the country and Public Enemy’s work was just the foundation for an entire generation of the culture. The gold-certified rapper spits a few lines of “Timebomb” as he explains how he crafted his own sound growing up listening to Public Enemy. They had a cult following, which turned into massive success after popularity came. I was just a kid trying to rap. “It built what we call West Coast Hip Hop,” he says. “There’s a lot more to you than just what you thought, especially if you didn’t have that education.”

He emphasizes the influence of Chuck D’s flow on the album. “He’s like, ‘I’m not Chuck D.’ I’m looking at the biggest dude going like this gotta be the guy. “The pictures they painted, they still hold true today,” he says. Speaking with Unique Access Entertainment, AMG breaks down why the album is so special. Even though it wasn’t a grand commercial success, those are the best things, like cult movies. Yo! It wasn’t deep, but it was gonna be big and bold like Chuck D’s was.”
Other standout tracks include “You’re gonna Get Yours” and “Public Enemy No.1,” which AMG says “sounded like the best shit I ever heard in my life.”
Besides the fierce political content, he applauds the album for its production. He’s got the big voice. “I walked up to Terminator X, was talking to him like, ‘Man, what you said,’” he recalls. That was something to beat. “That’s when I was kind of developing my style,” he says. Public Enemy stormed onto the Hip Hop scene in the late 1980s and is now one of the foundational groups of the culture. Their sophomore output, 1988’s It Takes a Nation of Millions, has been called “the greatest Hip Hop album ever,” but the New York crew’s journey started with 1987’s   Yo!

The 42-year-old artist was on Fox Sports 1’s   Skip and Shannon: Undisputed   show and weighed in on the controversial stances taken by   Martellus Bennett,   Alan Branch,   LaGarrette Blount, Chris Long, Dont’a Hightower, and Devin McCourty. Now you have to look at all the major sports franchises and how this is going to play out. Watch the full interview in the clip above. It’s a lot of Latin players in the MLB. Nelly believes that this is just the start of similar protests to take place across the professional sports universe. You have to look at the demographics on a lot of the sports franchises.”
Nelly added, “You go to [the] NHL, you go to the MLB. How does [Trump’s administration] play with the global branding of the MLB? The St. “This is the beginning,” Nelly said. Louis rapper shared his insight on the protests by several Pats players to forgo the traditional visit to the White House in protest of President Donald Trump and his administration’s   policies. “This is gonna   get a lot worse before it gets better anytime soon and I’m talking all the way across the board. Los Angeles, CA – Nelly has proven his capabilities as a person who knows sports in times past and offered some of his measured opinion regarding the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. How does it go with the global branding for any sports franchise?”
After host Shannon Sharpe quipped that players in the NBA could be affected by the ban, Nelly retorted by saying because of the league’s largely black makeup, players who’ve won the NBA championship would also forgo the tradition of visiting the president in Washington.

He like, ‘Dolph ain’t paying us no attention. I would feel so out of place over there with some faggots.”
Toward the end of the conversation, Dolph said the   beef between the two could be squashed if Gotti would simply apologize “publicly” and if he doesn’t, he dropped an ominous piece of advice,   “He just needs to stay out of my way.” There’s a sense, however, that won’t be happening anytime soon. Nope. That ain’t Dolph. Nope. It really ain’t even a diss song, it’s just straight facts.”

He also explained his reasoning behind the track, which he says stemmed from Gotti trying to subtly diss him first in a couple of his recent mixtapes. In reference to the blatant diss track, “Play Wit Yo Bitch,” he said he should have named it “Truth,” and elaborated, “This the first diss song Dolph ever put out. “Sign with him for what?” he asked. He racking ’em up, going crazy, by himself. I wouldn’t even feel right. No. He ain’t paying no attention.’ He thought the coast was clear.”
When asked what initially sparked the animosity between the two Memphis rappers, Dolph speculated it was because of his refusal to sign with Gotti’s label when Dolph began to gain traction. Look what Dolph doin. “The last two tapes he done put out. Dolph getting them Ms. Atlanta, GA – While promoting his latest project, Gelato, Young Dolph dropped a bombshell during an interview with DJ Holiday on the Atlanta radio station, Streetz 94.5, where he addressed the most recent “situation” between the   “King of Memphis”   rapper and his predecessor Yo Gotti, and ultimately demanded an apology. I can’t do it. Check out the full interview above. His answer presumably won’t make things any better. “Hell naw it didn’t make sense. He thought the coast was clear, okay. “He did it two times,” he said. He know what I do. Cocaine Musik faggots.

And still no visa. “I’m not sure if he was kidding or not, but it was nice to hear that. He knows my vision, he’s got my vision. The last text I received from him said something like, ‘Bro, I want you to be my producer forever,’” Menace says. “We’ve been able to text a bit. The musician, born Adnan Khan, is “very” frustrated at not being able to attend Music’s Biggest Night. “I’ve got the booklet with me, which details everything about me, which proves that I am, in fact, who I say I am, and that I’m the producer called Menace. “It’s been the check-ups the people in charge of reviewing visas have had to do,” Menace explains to HipHopDX. “I see it as an opportunity,” he says. “It’s the biggest award you can get, nothing’s bigger than a Grammy. But, the platinum-certified producer is confident that it hasn’t disrupted their creative process and   makes a lofty comparison for their chemistry. Producer Menace, on the other hand, did not have an option in the matter as he is stuck in the United Kingdom because he can’t get a visa. He is nominated for Best Rap Performance at the awards, which will be held Sunday, for his work on Desiigner’s   “Panda” and has yet to actually meet the Brooklyn rapper because he hasn’t been able to travel to the United States since selling the beat via YouTube in 2014 for $200. Manchester, GB – Frank Ocean and ScHoolboy Q aren’t attending the Grammy Awards ceremony by choice. It’s like how Future and Metro Boomin are.”
Stay tuned as Menace promises that once he finally gets to the United States is when the real work begins. I should have been there.”

He says people are always shocked when they find out he has never met Desiigner in person. He also wasn’t able to attend the BET Hip Hop Awards in October, where “Panda” was nominated for Track of the Year, but the Grammys weighs a bit heavier on him.

The classic crime movie will maintain the immigrant story told in both the 1932 and 1983 films, except it will be based in Los Angeles and focus on a Mexican immigrant. Training Day and The Equalizer‘s Antoine Fuqua was originally supposed to be the director of the film, but due to scheduling conflicts over creating a sequel to The Equalizer with Denzel Washington, he had to step away from the project. Some are not very happy about a remake, of the 1983 remake of Howard Hawks 1932 gangster movie, Scarface. Nobody asked for a remake of that overrated/mediocre movie, Scarface. Four-time Academy Award winners Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, known as The Coen Brothers, will be publishing the script. Fuqua tried to coordinate where he could work on both Scarface and part two of The Equalizer,   Variety reports. The Pablos came and went. The film will be a Bluegrass Films and Global Produce production with the producer of the 1983 remake of Scarface,   Martin Bregman,   on board and Boardwalk Empire‘s   Terence Winter as the writer. #Scarface Remake? So what’s next?”
As word makes its rounds the Scarface will be remade, Twitter, of course, reacted to the news. The Scarface [from 1983], he couldn’t survive today. “How money moves now. El Chapo is about to go. Bump it above. Badu is   up next, following one from   Karrueche. Badu throws in a couple of her tracks for good measure, including the contagious “Phone Down” and “I’ll Call U   Back.” Running over an hour in length, the 24-track mix is a decent cross-section of rap’s current climate that just happens to be thrown together by one of Hip Hop’s most beloved goddesses. Despite the fact 45-year-old Erykah Badu came up during Hip Hop’s golden era, the Dallas native clearly keeps a close ear to the street and has a firm grasp on what the kids are listening to these days. Ahead of the release of 2 Chainz’s   next mixtape, Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, the colorful rapper has been enlisting various extraordinary female artists to craft playlists in his honor and Ms. The “trap&b” singer and self-proclaimed “unicorn,” who had plenty of trap notes on her 2015 offering, But You Caint Use My Phone, has curated a playlist for the Georgia kingpin, which includes music from artists such as Lil Yachty, Divine Council, Future, Mike WiLL Made-It, Young Thug, her baby daddy André 3000 (“Decemba” remix), the East Atlanta Santa —   Gucci Mane   — and of course, 2 Chainz.

Released on February 26, 2016, the duo’s sophomore album’s title, This Unruly Mess I Made, alluded to the shake-up the Caucasian duo had brought to Hip Hop and apparently, they’re not done taking a backseat in the spotlight. city at the Grammys.”

Macklemore Says He Had “An Unfair Advantage Due To Race” At The Grammys
Featuring songs like “White Privilege II” — an open letter diatribe on race issues in the United States — and guest appearances from cultural heroes such as KRS-One, DJ Premier and Chance the Rapper, This Unruly Mess I Made was a precursor to the duo’s recent Grammy self-exile. Representatives for the rap group and the Grammys didn’t reply to the Associated Press emails seeking a comment. Although The Heist earned the group a pair of Billboard No. 1 hits, a platinum-certified album and four Grammys (the aforementioned Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song and Best New Artist), their big Grammy night almost never happened as the committee initially tried to stick them in the pop category due to the uncharacteristic commercial success as far as Hip Hop releases are concerned. Los Angeles, CA – For all its platinum and chart-chopping success, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ debut album, The Heist, will forever be known as “the album that beat good kid, m.A.A.d. In the HipHopDX review of the album, the group was cited for waiving “their rights as America’s token rap stars to be leveled with the more commoner rappers who work just as hard and sell less.”
And sell less it did. According to Nielsen Music, it moved 382,000 units (based on a combination of album sales, song sales and on-demand audio streams) in comparison to The Heist‘s combined 4.3 million units. According to a new report from the Associated Press, a person close to the Grammy nomination process speaking on the condition of anonymity revealed that Macklemore & Ryan Lewis voluntarily withheld the second studio effort from being submitted to potentially be recognized for Best Rap Album and maybe more. Most likely they were busy hunting for the leak to plug.
