Baltimore, MD – Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson was not having it when an aggressive female member of the audience suddenly pulled him off the   stage. 50 Cent then appears to punch her in the chest in an attempt to free himself from her grasp. The potentially dangerous   situation, however, was quickly contained after she was invited on stage, where 50 Cent proclaimed, “It’s all love.” Like any proper fan would, she then proceeded to shake it like a Polaroid picture in her adidas high tops. Watch the video above. During a recent show at Baltimore Soundstage in Maryland, where 50 Cent was performing with The LOX, the rap mogul   reached into the crowd to apparently shake hands, but instead, a woman in a flowered dress grabbed his arm and pulled him down, according to a video obtained by TMZ.

The Strange Music mastermind is currently on another sizable tour and   performing music that spans his massive catalog. The track comes from Wale’s forthcoming album, SHINE, which is expected to arrive on May 5. The song comes from Da Villins’ debut album, Cashmere Dice,   which can be streamed here. Contender number one is “Mad Nice” featuring The Roots’ Black Thought and Vinny Price (otherwise known as director Vincent Price), which dives into the struggles the MCs experienced growing up. The package includes a deluxe CD, a 3LP vinyl set, and the   formerly digital-only EP, Occult Hymn. Sliding in the top slot is a previously unreleased track from DANGERDOOM titled “Mad Nice,” which features Black Thought and comes from the upcoming The Mask & The Mouse reissue. The track comes from the New Orleans native’s latest project, The Regime, which can be found here. joey bada$$   – “Ring the alarm”

Joey Bada$$ just dropped his highly anticipated album, All-Amerikkkan Bada$$, and singles have been pouring out in rapid-fire succession. The dreaded Monday (April 10) has once again reared its ugly head, but at least DX Digest has a stellar soundtrack to kick off the week. Chief Keef   – “kills”

“I know myself so if I feel disrespected in a certain way I’m gonna roar. How would SwizZz have proof? Jarren didn’t have access so how could they possibly know? I don’t like it but it is what it is. The process of moving on from Funk Volume has lead Hopsin to Undercover Prodigy; his own record label that will house his releases as well as future artists he hopes to sign. I’m not suffering in any way. I don’t regret anything that I’ve done or what I’ve done. Which, appears to be up. “
When asked if he would have done anything differently, Hopsin, 31, didn’t exactly express any regret for how things played out. He only had access to his stuff. It’s gone. “I’m in a better position. I did what I had to do; everyone did what they had to do. Los Angeles, CA – In preparation for his first album since leaving his former crew and label, Hopsin stopped by the #DXHQ to talk with the #DXLive crew about where his career has been since the fallout and the direction it’s headed. I’ve done it myself. Hopsin also partook in an impromptu #LitnessTEST towards the end of the broadcast and gave a few aspiring artists some honest feedback. I’m in a good position. The fan base is still [as] strong as it has ever been. For more exclusive interviews like this one be sure to tune into #DXLive every Thursday at 3 pm PST/6 pm EST. “I understand what it takes to mold an artist now. I think my opinions for what a good artist is, I think, is valuable. The artists on the label I still have love for them. Funk Volume is dead. “Let me ask you this. There are so many lanes of what good is and what good is now [so] it just depends on what I’m seeking or what any label owner is seeking. I’m not gonna lie. Whatever they say is irrelevant because they don’t know but, yeah, shoutout to those guys.”
Over the past year, HipHopDX interviewed Ritter, Dizzy and Jarren and even Hopsin regarding their own perspectives on the dissolution of the label. Career wise I’ve definitely [moved] past it,” Hopsin says about his former label Funk Volume. Does he even know the accountants that [were] involved in Funk Volume? It’s sad it all ended the way it did but it is what it is. Dizzy didn’t have access. “All the way [removed from it]. He knows of them but he doesn’t have access to that stuff unless Dame showed him. If you rewound time a thousand times, the outcome would have been the same because I don’t think the ball was in my court as far as the disrespect that was brought to me. I wish things didn’t turn out the way that they did and I know there’s a little tension between me and a few of the artists and [that] does suck. He didn’t own the label, shareholder or anything in the company. A good artist, in my opinion, they have to be talented lyrically. Anyone who understands business knows that. [The] money is amazing so I can’t complain. They feel how they feel, I feel how I feel and I’m going to stand by what I believe in.”
Hopsin also addressed how the Funk Volume artists didn’t believe the allegations he levied against former co-label boss Dame Ritter embezzling label. I know exactly what to do, at least, to the level I’m at. There’s no way they could have seen [Funk Volume’s accounting]. I think [social media] also matters. They didn’t show anything because it’s nothing they could have shown. They have to be willing to promote themselves and feed their fans with things they may think are unnecessary.”

Drama: There was also an addressing of the “All Your Fault” video meaning midway during the #DXLive broadcast. “I’m getting ready to release my first album under Undercover Prodigy and I wanna sign new artists this year as well,” says Hopsin. It’s not coming back. The live sitdown was witnessed by hundreds of his fans through the HipHopDX Facebook page and answered many of their inquiries and concerns as the tenured MC moves forward with his career. I definitely [know how] to build the buzz up for an artist that’s for sure.

“Negro please, keep it up, you was a ballerina I got your pictures I seen ya, pull up then I got stacks of comic books bigger than you. It all kicked off early Monday (April 10), when The Breakfast Club host posted a photo of himself with Destiny Child’s Kelly Rowland showing off their books, Black Privilege and Whoa Baby, respectively. The pair are both starring in DJ Pooh’s forthcoming stoner, Grow House 420. “Humble yourself.”
“Oh but when you out here posting pics of your little Growhouse Jet, and that little movie you got with Pooh that you starring in, I don’t be hating but I could,” Charlamagne wrote back before splicing in a bit of Meek Mill and Rozay:   “You not MmG bruh, you just mad Jay Ski writes all your jokes and we found out. Don’t do this because you not going to pull up and my last request is that all producers please get paid.”

Just out here building with other authors and what not, @kellyrowland #WhoaBaby is out tomorrow!!! A post shared by Charlamagne Thagod (@cthagod) on Apr 10, 2017 at 9:28am PDT

While it initially seemed like the two were legitimately heated, it soon turned into a light-hearted exchange with Duval quoting lyrics from 2Pac’s “Hit ‘Em Up” and “Against All Odds,” and Charlamagne responding with lines from Nas’ “Ether” and Jay Z’s “Takeover.”
“Tellem bout how I use to let you sleep on my couch,” Duval replied. “And beg a bitch to let you sleep in the house. Now you all about books…..you know what I’m not going back and forth with you on this internet shit. You and I know what’s going on.”
“Oh you thinking you getting girls now because of your looks,” Charlamagne retorted. Not doing this hoe shit on social media, you got the social security number nigga do something.”
With Lil Duval apparently on his way to New York City for a show this Thursday (April 14),   it wouldn’t be surprising if they hashed it out on The Breakfast Club   later this week. THE GRAM – Charlamagne Tha God and Lil Duval appeared to be embroiled in yet another social media war after the comedian/actor told the radio personality to “humble” himself on one of his Instagram photos. Charlamagne was recently honored at the Columbia Career Connect Conference in his home state of South Carolina, where Mayor Steve Benjamin declared August 8   Charlamagne Tha God day. “Nigga swear he all that cuz he got books and shit,” Lil Duval wrote in the photo’s comment section. Check out the Instagram post and teaser for Grow House 420 above. Charlamagne, of course, quickly fired back and claimed   Lil Duval essentially employs fellow comedian/actor Jayski as his   joke ghostwriter.

“It’s not gonna be a long time from now, but not within this month. We’re still working on the album.”
In the stream, Cannon mentioned guest appearances from Lil Yachty and that recently released Uzi Vert single “XO TOUR Llif3” is on the project as well. Between the solo single “You Was Right” and his guest appearance   on Migos’ mainstream breakout chart dominator “Bad and Boujee,” Lil Uzi Vert   is on a roll. “Luv is Rage [2] is not dropping no time soon,” said Cannon.   Watch the video of Don Cannon speaking on   Luv is Rage 2 below. So far, that gives the Philly native three singles selling/streaming over one million alongside a gold plaque for DJ Esco’s “Too Much Sauce” featuring   Future. Over the weekend, Uzi Vert’s producer and Generation Now head, Don Cannon, produced a live stream answering questions about   Luv is Rage 2. Now he has another RIAA certification under his belt with “Money Longer,” which has earned platinum status.

Whether Lil Boat actually responds to this call-out remains to be seen. being overrated. Cincinnati, OH – Well, it looks like Vic Mensa ran through some new tracks when performing at a free show at the University of Cincinnati this weekend, but the fact that he’s got new music in the pipeline is not the top story. Lol might be time to hop off the planet Lil bro
— lil boat kot* (@lilyachty) April 9, 2017 Since the diss, he’s just been tweeting like normal, though he did post this ambiguous tweet on Sunday. Now if you think there’s a chance we’ve misheard, or misinterpreted, check the video out yourself:
"What the F*ck is a Lil Yachty" – Vic Mensahttps://t.co/khkwluntLB pic.twitter.com/9NG8Wwsc4e
— CViddy TV (@CViddyTV_) April 9, 2017

Vic Mensa is hardly the first rapper to take shots at Lil Yachty — plenty of veterans have taken issue with Lil Boat’s “mumble-rapping” and his statements about Notorious B.I.G. In a clip that’s been circulating on social media, Mensa draws a huge reaction from the crowd as he drops the following four bars:
Yeah I signed to the Roc
Now they say I’m Illuminati
Bitch I’m a tsunami
What the fuck is a Lil   Yachty? Instead, it’s that   a line from one of these new songs seems to go straight for 19-year-old Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty.

Boosie Badazz is bringing his talents to the big screen after landing a role in the upcoming indie boxing film Glass Jaw, according to Variety. This won’t be Boosie’s first foray into the acting world, having previously starred in bootleg films such as   Ghetto Stories: The Movie,   but with director Jeff Celentano of Breaking Point (which starred Busta Rhymes) behind it, we’re betting Glass Jaw‘s going to be Boosie’s biggest impact in the movie market to date. The movie is a story of redemption for a former boxing champ who loses everything after he goes to prison. The lead role will be played by Lee Kholafai. Variety reports that filming has already begun on the project, and that Boosie’s costars include   Korrina Rico, Jon Gries, Ashlee Macropoulos, Mark Rolston, Jaime Camil, Vernon Wells, and Steven Williams. Boosie‘s character is an underground fight club runner who bets money on the lead character’s fight and wins big.

Miami, FL – Rolling Loud, one of the most anticipated music festivals of the year, appears to now be in jeopardy. The Bayfront Park Management Trust will soon vote on “approval/denial of the use agreement for the Rolling Loud Festival,” which is scheduled to take place from May 5 to May 7 at Miami, Florida’s Bayfront Park. The upcoming vote came about after Frank Carollo, the chairman for the group discovered that Rolling Loud was authorized without the approval of the board. With the festival less than one month away, its fate will be determined by the Bayfront Park Management Trust, the Miami Herald reports. Among the acts scheduled to perform are Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Future, Young Thug, and Mac Miller. This latest news involving Rolling Loud marks an unfortunate turn of events for the festival, which is stacked with performances from well over a dozen Hip Hop notables. “We look forward to a positive resolution of this matter on Tuesday and we have the greatest respect for the Park’s board members and all that they do to bring quality events, like ours, to showcase the best of Miami to the world.”
The Bayfront Park Management Trust is scheduled to hold its vote tomorrow (April 11). “We are proceeding, as planned, to put on an amazing event at an iconic venue: Miami’s Bayfront Park. Nothing has changed,” the statement read. Despite the last minute, road block, those at Rolling Loud remained optimistic in a statement obtained by XXL.
