Herb speaks on the significance of the theater. Now, he expresses appreciation for how the Black Barbie gave him a co-sign. On this very day (March 16), G Herbo released a commemorative merchandise capsule in conjunction with the release of his Welcome To Fazoland 1.5 EP, which he describes as a “mixtape deluxe.” This celebrates the three-year anniversary of Welcome To Fazoland. For him to really think to do that… So that’s why I fuck with him super heavy.”
G Herbo is trying to make his own impact on the city. Songs been leaked and put all over the place. So it’s like a new project. I feel like that’s what I need to do to be a good role model. This lead to a conversation on how G plans on being a good role model. “Shout out to Chance for winning his Grammy,” he said. It’s Remy Ma. I was going to walk up to her and get a picture. I look up to Nicki Minaj, of course, she helped jumpstart my career,” he said. “Not what makes you happy for the moment, that your peers or your friends may be doing. But what you genuinely want to do that makes you happy. And they know you humble, because they didn’t see it coming.” For poverty-stricken neighborhoods and things like that, that the youth don’t have.”
Fans wait patiently as Herbo prepares his forthcoming debut project, Humble Beast. Nobody goes to 87th theater because there’s so much violence, things that have been going on since we were kids. And give back, hands on. I can guarantee you, 80% of Chicago kids in my age group or my generation, has experienced an 87th show. “If you from Chicago, you know 87th is a legendary theater,” he explained. “And that’s exactly what Chance is doing, and he has been doing from the dawn of time. He hasn’t changed a bit. Thanks for rocking with us #GHerbo ✊🏾 Exclusive interview coming soon. So that’s insane. To actually let it out and be able to maneuver and get through obstacles in life. It was super, super, super insane. That kind of made me feel a certain way, that he chose that show in particular, instead of a show downtown, or a show in a good neighborhood.”
This lead to even more praise for the Coloring Book rapper. This #LiveAtTheBBQ showcase was the place to be, featuring headliner Lil Wayne, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and Dave East, among others. “He called himself a humble beast because he’s humble, but you could still have an inner animal inside you. “I’m so humble and down-to-earth. Chance been giving back to the city in a crazy way.”
I bought all the tickets to #GetOut at Chatham Theatre on 87th Just pull up with ID and enjoy the movie. A lot of new music I’ve been working on and just been having sitting. Austin, TX – SXSW, the annual week-long music and film festival in Austin, Texas, was the place to be this year, as it is every year. “All it is really just staying true to yourself,” he added. It turns out the title comes from one of his homies he played basketball with and inspired him to go hard after his dreams. #SXSW

HipHopDX had the pleasure of catching up with Herb at his hotel room, after a crazy night at the Mass Appeal stage. “I just wanted to put out a body of work that my fans are true to and familiar with,” he shared. As someone also with a huge following, Herbo gives praise to his fellow Chicagoan, whose efforts do not go unnoticed. “It kind of struck me,” he shared. Especially under 25, from the city that we come from, with so much poverty and violence. Really, I just wanted to gather all my music in one place, and I’ma keep on doing it.”
When asked about the Nicki Minaj/Remy Ma beef, G Herbo had nothing but positive things to say about both despite having a monster guest appearance on the Young Money rapper’s “Chiraq.” In a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, he revealed he almost missing the collab with Nicki because he almost hung up on her. Not only has he made a name for himself in the realm of Hip Hop, but also in the community. “It was crazy. Coming out of Chicago, a city home to some of the greats such as Kanye West and Common, a young 21-year-old named G Herbo rises. — Lil Chano From 79th (@chancetherapper) February 26, 2017

Back in February, Chance The Rapper bought all the tickets to Get Out at Chatham Theatre on 87th. “Then he just donated a million dollars to CPS. There’s nothing like performing in your hometown, as evidenced by G Herbo’s sold out show, which turned out to be one for the books. And all over the world. “When you were growing up, all the kids from Chicago would just go out to 87th theater to have fun. “It was really just me reflecting on my first show I did in Chicago to now,” he said. Give opportunities, activities, summer jobs, AAU programs, youth centers, things like that, in my community and my city. “But it’s still bonuses on there. Even before he was getting all this attention, he always remained himself. Nobody does that anymore. And you don’t have to let anyone know, ‘I’m about to knock this building down, or knock this wall down.’ You actually do it and they see the inner beast or inner animal that you have inside you. But social media can be used for positive ways too, such as Chance The Rapper’s support of the city. “I try to tell the kids as much as possible, stay focused on whatever you want to do in life (to excel),” he said. I didn’t think I could get that much love in my city honestly.”
Herbert was recently named honorary principal for a day at a Chicago high school. “Of course, I love Nicki forever. She one of the coldest Hip Hop females ever, along with Nicki.”
Unfortunately, putting a picture up on the internet would have caused unnecessary problems. Nobody’s doing that. But I thought I just seen Remy Ma in Miami. I look forward to doing it again.

According to a recent Instagram post, the 22-year-old artist was just as anxious   to get his hands on one as his fans. Although early predictions of SPS (Sales Plus Streaming) numbers indicate the project will do about 31,000-34,000 total and place him at #9 on the Billboard 200, sales alone are predicted to hit 24,000-27,000, putting him in the third slot behind The Chainsmokers and Pentatonix albums, according to projections made by   Hits Daily Double. Joey’s last studio album, 2015’s B4.DA.$$,   debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 and sold 54,000 copies in its first week. Projects from Future, Post Malone, Migos, Khalid, and The Weeknd follow behind the Brooklyn native in SPS predictions, while Tech N9ne,   Bruno Mars, and Drake trail him in the sales category. Politically-motivated MC Joey Bada$$   released his highly anticipated album, All-Amerikkkan Bada$$, last Friday (April 7)   and luckily didn’t have to compete against Kendrick Lamar’s forthcoming album, DAMN., which is scheduled to arrive this Friday (April 14).

Hughley and George Lopez. Many fans will remember him for his starring role in the Adult Swim sitcom Black Jesus, as well as for his voiceover work, his stand-up, and his movie appearances. Dating back to his 1993 role as Gusto, to his appearance in 1998’s The Players Club, which was Ice Cube’s directorial debut, and even during his time with Chappelle has afforded him many friends within the Hip Hop community (who flooded Twitter with tributes) and a special place in the culture. Last night, Charlie left the world with one final tweet. But   it was ultimately his appearances — and writing — on the iconic sketch comedy game-changer that was Chappelle’s Show that made him the pop-culture figure he was at the time of his passing. His hilarious retelling of real encounters with the late Rick James and Prince stand out as some of the show’s breakout moments. Fans across the globe were rocked by the news that beloved actor, comedian, and author Charlie Murphy, passed away Wednesday after a battle with leukemia. Charlie was a longtime “friend of Hip Hop” starting with his role as the “real” Gusto in the 1993 film CB4, as he described in an interview in 2014. — Charlie Murphy (@charliemurphy) April 12, 2017

Rest in power, brother. Coupled with his personal relationships with music icons as a result of his younger brother Eddie Murphy’s rise to super stardom in the ’80s, he lived a life that many of us can only imagine. At the time of his passing, Charlie was currently touring across the nation with The Comedy Get Down Tour with Cedric The Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, D.L. One to Sleep On: Release the past to rest as deeply as possible.

Murphy, who is Eddie Murphy’s older brother, was just 57 at the time of his death and noticeably thinner in recent months. You made us smile. Will be missed https://t.co/uuVvX2JhTF

wow. Scroll below for their reactions.

Watch a teaser above. Listen to the track above. king mez   – “too silly (rmx)”

Code Green has recruited King Mez for the remix of “Too Silly” and subsequent video. Check out Wednesday’s edition here. Directed by ARX, it features the crew   walking through the city streets before being turned into animated characters of themselves. Nas – “Angel Dust”
Hip Hop poster child Nas has finally resurfaced with some new material and this time, it’s in the form of the single, “Angel Dust.” Taken from the popular Netflix series   The Get Down II,   the song opens the third episode of the second season, which premiered last Friday (April 7). And while it’s not necessarily Hip Hop, the 30-year-old producer has worked with a litany of rappers from Travis Scott to Kool A.D. Joey Bada$$ – “Traffic Jams (Teaser)”

Spotify’s new Traffic Jams series places a rapper and producer in the back of a car then has them make a fresh track on the fly before performing the song in front of an audience. As the title suggests, it’s another project packed with reimagined Wu-Tang Clan instrumentals crafted entirely by producer/multi-instrumentalist Leon Michels. Code Green f. DJ rob swift   – “5 Minutes of funk”

DJ Rob Swift of the infamous X-Ecutioners turntablist crew, who cut it up alongside the late Grandmaster Roc Raida for years, hit the Hot 97 studios to participate in Funkmaster Flex’s 5 Minutes of Funk (or in this case, 10 Minutes of Funk) for “Turntable Tuesdays.” The veteran wax manipulator juggled joints from artists like LL Cool J and Lil Wayne, and threw in a few behind-the-back tricks that would make Raida proud. Snoop dogg   – “promise you this”

After sharing the single earlier this month, Snoop Dogg has rolled through with a subsequent video for “Promise You This,” which brings the hard-hitting track to life. Snoop Dogg makes a swift return with a visual for the banging single, “Promise You This,” which sits in the second slot and is followed by DJ Rob Swift cutting it up on the 1’s and 2’s for Funkmaster Flex’s 5 Minutes of Funk segment, Joey Bada$$ making a song in the back of a car, and KXNG Crooked on LA Leakers. Listen to the 13-track affair above. toro y moi   – “omaha”

Singer-songwriter/producer Toro Y Moi is back with a visual for “Omaha,” which comes from the “Our First 100 Days” project that was launched after the President’s inauguration. kxng Crooked   – “LA Leakers freestyle”

KXNG Crooked (formerly Crooked I) stopped by the Power 106 studios for an episode of LA Leakers, where he spit a freestyle over Jeru Tha Damaja’s “Come Clean.” The performance follows his freestyles over   The Weeknd’s “Starboy,” J Dilla’s “Life,” Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You,” and Slaughterhouse’s “Cut You Loose.”
el michels affair   – “Return to the 37th Chamber”

Ahead of its Friday (April 14) release, El Michels Affair has streamed its follow-up to 2009’s Enter The 37th Chamber, Return To The 37th Chamber, in full via Big Crown Records. It was recorded completely analog, and sometimes hit six generations of tape before it was ready for mixing, according to a press release. The show premiered with T-Pain and Southside/Young Sizzle as the first experimental pair, and will follow up with another episode featuring the one and only all-amerikkan badass, Joey Bada$$, and producer Cardo. Music from El Michels Affair, Kamasi Washington, Code Green and King Mez, Toro Y Moi, and Strange Music’s Darrein Safron round out the Top 10. darrein safron   – “just me”

While the world was introduced to singer/rapper   Darrein Safron through collaborations with his Strange Music family, he now takes centerstage with a solo video of his own for “Just Me.” The video finds him walking through the quiet city streets and hitting a hookah bar. Have no fear, the   DX Digest for Wednesday (April 12) is here. The song comes ahead of his upcoming EP, Harmony of Difference,   which serves as his follow-up to 2015’s The Epic. Kamasi Washington   – “truth”

Kamasi Washington has delivered a 14-minute visual packed to the brim with gorgeous jazz and emotionally charged imagery. Sitting in the top slot, naturally, is a newly unearthed track from Nas, “Angel Dust,” which comes from The Get Down II soundtrack. The offering comes after the release of the trio’s recent project, 7 Day Trip, which can be found here. WANT MORE? The song comes from the inimitable rapper’s next album, Neva Left,   and further cements his reputation as being one cool, calm and collected mother … well, we know.

That is to say, compared to To Pimp A Butterfly, DAMN. “Nigga im singing autotune for the first time in a Kendrick Lamar record hahahaaaaaaaaaas,” he wrote in the tweet. Zacari has also since revealed that he’s on the song “LOVE.” meaning there might be a few more things about this album K.Dot has yet to reveal. Another tweet from Toronto instrumental outfit BADBADNOTGOOD shows   that he’s not the only extra artist that will be appearing on the song — called “LUST.”
so very proud to be apart of "LUST." produced by @DjDahi @SounwaveTDE additional vocals @KAYTRANADA 🔥🌊⭐
— badbadnotgood IV 😉 (@badbadnotgood) April 11, 2017

As for what the track might sound like, Kaytranada revealed that his vocals on the track are auto-tuned, but that’s pretty much all he said on the matter. looks pretty thin on features — or at least it did, until we learned that some artists would be appearing on the album who don’t feature on the back cover. album, it’s fair to say that a few people were surprised by the featured artists — and not just because of who was there (U2, in case you hadn’t heard), but because of who wasn’t there. Thank you @kendricklamar for giving me an opportunity to be a part of this legendary album. is set to drop this Friday (April 14), so expect any mysteries around other features to be cleared up soon. Montreal beatmaker   Kaytranada, who was DX’s 2016 Producer of the Year, revealed in a since-deleted tweet that he’d be providing additional vocals to the record. Sleeper feature Zacari. Speculation is swirling the show   might end up on Netflix, but until then, fans can look forward to celebrating another revolution around the sun with their favorite rapper this weekend. Chicago, IL – In honor of his impending 24th birthday, Chance The Rapper   is throwing a special “Chance The Birthday” party in the form of something his manager promises will be “better than any festival that ever existed.” The night is booked for this Sunday (April 16) at Chicago’s Paris Studio. As part of his conversation with the trio, he discussed solidarity in the black community, touched on consciousness in Hip Hop, and offered praise to Kendrick. He’s very conscious. Who is ignorant in this situation? Okay, after we left out the mall, he came up behind us again, and sprayed us again. “This is 1968 all over again they trying to take my my jewelry from me this is crazy. Sounding frustrated and emotional, Boosie recounted the story on Instagram: “The security came up to me and said ‘Boy, get out my damn mall, boy.’ I said, ‘Alright, he racist, we gotta go man.’”
Boosie then goes on to say that his niece, who was “six months pregnant with twins,” was pepper-sprayed for walking in the wrong direction. Biloxi, MS – In two videos uploaded to his own Instagram page, Boosie BadAzz has claimed that he, his family and his friends were pepper-sprayed and forced to leave a shopping mall in Biloxi, Mississippi. “He back us in the corner and he sprayed us again.
