According to blogTO, Fring’s promoted “immoderate consumption” and that was the reason for the Alcohol and Gaming Commission revoking the liquor license between April 6 and 13. Currently reopened, the restaurant   originally used an Instagram post (now deleted) to announce that it was under renovations. For those not up on Toronto’s fairly moderate liquor laws, section 20 of its Liquor License Act says:
“The holder of a license to sell liquor shall not engage in or permit practices that may tend to encourage patrons’ immoderate consumption of liquor.”
The CBC says   the restaurant also failed   to post   its license and to comply with other legislation, including the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, the commission added. Toronto, ON – Though Drake’s not the actual owner of Toronto restaurant   Fring’s, he is responsible for naming it. Fring’s website features a small pink and green icon telling visitors that it’s “currently closed, reopening thursday   april 13th.”

Chef Grant Soto, social media satirist, posted the restaurant’s claim it was closed for renovations and the notice that the liquor license was suspended on his Instagram page and asked Drake to answer what was going on. Looks like the famous attachment couldn’t help the establishment from getting its liquor license suspended for about a week.

“I feel like my sound is my sound. I was in the process of making one and they was like, ‘Will if you don’t put this out you’re stupid.’ [Typically] I’ll make all this music and I’ll just give it away or save it. “It was just a matter of me being around the right people. That was my first track I ever put out and that was one of YG’s biggest tracks [up to that point]. A lot of these tracks I don’t have the same delivery. Once all that stuff start happening, I knew I was headed down the right path.”
Claye’s transition into rap comes on the heels of a very successful Olympic career, having won the bronze medal for the long jump and the silver medal for the triple jump in 2012 and the silver for the triple jump in 2016. I was in the studio with my boys [and normally] I really don’t’ like nobody in the studio when I record but I invited my boys to the studio one day. Me and my boy Mitch, the first major track we did was with YG, that “I Don’t Give A Fuck” track in like 2012. That call didn’t miss Olympian silver medalist Will Claye as he readies his debut album Look What You Created. I let them hear a couple of these tracks. I’ve been everywhere and that’s what you can hear in my music.”
Be on the look out for Look What You Created dropping soon on Will Claye’s website OfficialWillClaye.com. The #DXLive team recently made the trek to the Red Bull HQ in Santa Monica to host the listening party for the long and triple jump champion alongside fellow Olympian Allyson Felix and Hip Hop luminaries Seaside Stretch, Thurz, and Apple Music’s own Carl Chery. I wouldn’t even say I have a sound, honestly. I put this whole project together in two months — during my offseason, right when I came back from the Olympics.”

Claye elaborated how he developed his style in today’s climate and being from Arizona where there isn’t a bustling Hip Hop scene. I’ve taken in so many things. When asked if the 25-year-old silver medalist felt he’d ever reach this level with his music. “I didn’t even try that hard. Santa Monica, CA – For world-class athletes, the allure of the music industry always seems to find its way into the picture. “I feel like I’ve always made dope music,” he explained. The tension got so high that the cops were called. Yo wtf Daygo wasn't fair with you bro! After tension brewed for the past week or so, Stone’s crew beat up the Florida rapper on stage. Los Angeles, CA – HipHopDX was in the building for Desiigner’s Outlet Tour at The Fonda Theater in Hollywood on Monday (April   10). Taking the L, Ski stood in the middle of the stage only to be escorted out by security. Rob later shared a screen grab of Ski Mask with his pants down after getting beat up outside the venue on Instagram. He posted and deleted footage of the brawl, but other sources quickly circulated the video as well. Ski reportedly felt some type of way about being an opener before Rob, saying that he drew more people and performace-wise, he gave a better show. After dissecting the actual track down to the whistling and hysterically laughing, XXX says he will “slap the fuck out of” Rob. He claims he was just asking to use the mic to tell his fans that he wasn’t going to do his set. After it happened, Stone promised to share the full details of what went down. — rob $tone. I'll holla back. According to reports,   the “Chill Bill” rapper says Ski was being disrespectful, running up on stage in the middle of his set and shaking hands with the fans, attempting to steal the spotlight. (@youngrobstone) April 10, 2017

Yesterday #xxxtentacion had some words for rapper #robstone over his treatment to his bro #skimask on #desiigner tour. According to Ski Mask, the whole ordeal didn’t   faze him and he’s still counting his money. This led to a series of tweets from Rob. It seems the beef between the two was a matter of ego. When the show began, Ski was reportedly nowhere to be seen for his 8:30 p.m. He claims organizers wanted to kick Rob off the tour but were unable to   because it meant paying $75,000 to breach the contract. XXXTENTACION, again to Ski’s defense, did a quick tweet and delete with his response to the incident, saying “whoever the fuck that is getting fucked in they mouth when I go on tour for putting they peasant hands on my brother.” But he didn’t take it down quick enough for it to get past Rob Stone.

An arrest in Florida’s Broward   County has resulted in some issues for Tory Lanez   this week. This week’s arrest comes days ahead of Tory Lanez’s scheduled performance at Coachella, which kicks off this Friday (April 14). Among the charges the rapper was struck with: carrying a concealed firearm, possession of cannabis (20 grams or less), failure to register a motor vehicle and driving without a valid driver’s license. The Florida Sun-Sentinel reports   that the Canadian up and comer   was arrested on both gun and drug charges. Lanez was released from jail after his $1,000 bond was posted. Lanez’ lawyer maintained his client’s innocence and told the Sun-Sentinel he would be “fully exonerated once all the facts come to light.”
The possession of cannabis 20 grams or less charge serves as a first degree misdemeanor, while the firearm possession charge is a third degree felony. Among the other Hip Hop acts slated to perform at Coachella are Kendrick Lamar, Gucci Mane, and Travis Scott. The arrest went down after Lanez was pulled over for   having an expired dealer’s tag on his 2014 Rolls Royce.

Nas remained coy on how the promo leading up to the album is going to go, saying that before the album drops “We might do a single or we might do something different.”

CEO of media company Mass Appeal Peter Bittenbender also detailed a project documenting   Nas’   Illmatic anniversary performance with the National Symphony Orchestra that was recorded three years ago. While Nas answered “for sure” when asked if the album would see a 2017 release, he added the caveat that “it’s not done until it hits the streets,” and that we won’t have an album title until the release date. “Recently, we brought it back and they mixed the full Illmatic   with the orchestra guy back in the studio. As for the new record, details were sparse. Listen to it here. “We don’t know when to put it out   but we had   to capture this moment,” he said. We had to make sure whatever project we touched first came from Nas obviously.”
A new song from Nas called “Angel Dust” premiered on The Get Down II   recently. In an interview with Billboard, Nas confirmed   that he’s wrapping up his 12th album in his Empire State Building recording studio. New York City, NY – Queensbridge Hip Hop legend Nas has revealed that his fans will have a new Esco record to bump before the year is out. That was the first project [we worked on here].

“For us to walk in there, it felt good as an artist because no matter if you’re super poppin’ or it doesn’t matter, you were in there because you know you’re poppin’. When asked about the move by HipHopDX at a recent Red Bull Sound Select show in Los Angeles, Raka Dun and Raka Rich, who were both wearing black and silver, sighed in anguish. It didn’t matter it has a great vibe.”
The team still has a few more seasons in the Bay Area before packing up for the desert. It’s not about who got the most views on YouTube, who got the most followers on Instagram. “It’s like the World Cup of artists. “He’s bridging those gaps. While Dun ponders if the NFL’s N.W.A would come back to Los Angeles, he says he’d still root for the team. People are like ‘Yeah, I don’t know what y’all saying in some parts, but I feel it and that’s cool.’”
Los Rakas’   Raka Love 2 is out now. And they give credit to a certain superstar who sometimes gets backlash for his cultural influences, but who has taken international flavor to heights that truly have yet to be reached. Las Vegas Raiders, it doesn’t sound right to me.”
On the bright side, Los Rakas is celebrating its first ever Grammy nomination for Best Latin, Rock Urban or Alternative Album with Los Rakas. “We’re there every year, whether they’re winning or losing,” Raka Rich says. After working on their music for 10 years, Los Rakas feel they have perfected their craft of blending genres and just having fun. Everything is for money. Even though they lost out on taking home the golden trophy, the Panamanian duo finds the nod a big encouragement. That’s where the world is going now. “If they go far, I will still be proud of the players, I will be happy for them, but I can’t. We were part of that. In there, it’s all about the music, who’s really got it.”

They carried that momentum into their sophomore album,   Raka Love 2, their first independent album. It’s about the talent if you’re in there. It didn’t matter about the people. “I can’t do it,” Rich says of rooting for the Raiders still. And this isn’t the Raiders’ first move as they spent some time in the ’80s in Los Angeles — but for Dun, this move signifies something more than a relocation. “Every artist dreamed to be in the Grammys,” Dun says. It doesn’t feel right. “When you think of Oakland, you definitely think Raiders, that’s a big part of Oakland that’s gonna be gone, so it’s sad,” he shares. Everything is for money. And a business decision didn’t matter about our loyalty. It’s becoming — it’s easier, it’s more accepted, it’s easier to push the people now. Los Angeles, CA – Oakland duo Los Rakas was heartbroken at the news that their hometown football team will now become the Las Vegas Raiders. It’s not that foreign that people are afraid to like it. But his right-hand man can’t say the same. “We’re loyal. “Different languages, different cultures, Drake is one of the people doing that,” Rich says. It felt good.”
“It was the All-Star of music, the best of the best,” Rich adds.
